Description
This message from Windows indicates that the User is trying to authenticate with a different Security Key than the one they used to register.
Resolution
The “YubiKey” security keys are tied to a domain that they are enrolled under. There are two possible domains: myapps.mccneb.edu and mccneb.okta.com. Both are tied to our Okta environment and function identically, aside from the MFA keys. The keys will work with one or the other, but not both.
Most, if not all of our applications are set up to automatically go to myapps.mccneb.edu. If you find a student who is encountering the "This security key doesn't look familiar" error, chances are, their key was enrolled under the wrong domain. You will want to remove the YubiKey MFA factor from the admin console and have the use re-enroll their YubiKey to fix this. Ensure that it says "myapps.mccneb.edu" in the address bar when they are doing so.
