403 Access Forbidden 

Description

A “403 access forbidden” error on an Apple device is due to either having Private Relay turned on or using an anonymous VPN. 

Resolution

1. Private Relay Issue

  1. Turn off Private Relay on your iPhone or iPad
  1. Go to Settings > Click on [your name] (will be located at the top of the Settings menu).
  2. Tap iCloud, then select Private Relay.
  3. To turn Private Relay on or off, tap the toggle switch next to Private Relay.

  1. Turn off Private Relay on your Mac

1. In macOS Ventura or later:

  1. To turn on or off Private Relay, click the Turn toggle On or off.
  2. Click Private Relay, then click Options.
  3. Click your name, then select iCloud.
  4. Choose Apple menu > System Settings.

      C. In macOS Monterey

a. Choose Apple menu > System Preferences.

b. Click Apple ID, then select iCloud.

c. To turn on or off Private Relay, click the check mark next to Private Relay.

       D. Anonymous VPN Issue

  1. Turn off VPN on Your iPhone or iPad
    1. Open your iPhone or iPad's Settings.
    2. Scroll down and tap General.
    3. Tap VPN.
    4. Toggle the switch to the Off position.
