403 Access Forbidden
Description
A “403 access forbidden” error on an Apple device is due to either having Private Relay turned on or using an anonymous VPN.
Resolution
1. Private Relay Issue
- Turn off Private Relay on your iPhone or iPad
- Go to Settings > Click on [your name] (will be located at the top of the Settings menu).
- Tap iCloud, then select Private Relay.
- To turn Private Relay on or off, tap the toggle switch next to Private Relay.

- Turn off Private Relay on your Mac
1. In macOS Ventura or later:
- To turn on or off Private Relay, click the Turn toggle On or off.
- Click Private Relay, then click Options.
- Click your name, then select iCloud.
- Choose Apple menu > System Settings.

C. In macOS Monterey
a. Choose Apple menu > System Preferences.
b. Click Apple ID, then select iCloud.
c. To turn on or off Private Relay, click the check mark next to Private Relay.
D. Anonymous VPN Issue
- Turn off VPN on Your iPhone or iPad
- Open your iPhone or iPad's Settings.
- Scroll down and tap General.
- Tap VPN.
- Toggle the switch to the Off position.
