Emergency & Weather Alerts

Information for obtaining emergency or weather-related information or closings at any of the college locations.

MCC has now activated the ability to receive inclement weather & emergency text alerts.

To use this option, students and employees can enroll for no charge; however, the user is responsible for purchasing standard text messaging through their cell phone provider.

1. From the Student Links page, click on the Emergency & Weather Alerts tile.

    

2. You will be redirected to an Etrieve form where you can choose to opt-in or out to receive both Weather and Emergency related text alerts.

Click the radio buttons for the notifications you wish to receive.

3. At the bottom of the form page, click Submit.

  

In addition to the text alerts, employees and students may verify if College campuses and centers are open or closed using the following methods:

• College website or UNITY site

• College Weather Line – 531-622-2499

• Employee and student individual College email inboxes

• Social media (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter/X)

• Local news outlets

• Department-specific notification calling trees.

• Text notification: Sign up to receive text notifications via UNITY. Click Apps>Links>Emergency & Weather Opt-In/Opt-out and complete the form

Practicum/clinical/internship students should check with their faculty or site advisors to clarify individual expectations in the event of inclement weather or other adverse conditions.
