Account Continually Locks and Cannot be Logged Into

Error Message

"The referenced account is currently locked out and may not be logged on to." 

Description

User changes their network password, but after initially logging into the network they are unable to log into anything else. 

  • Error message indicates account is locked and may not be logged into.  
  • Account continues to lock after being unlocked.   
Resolution

  1. Check for other devices the user may use to connect to MCC Wi-Fi, especially a cell phone.
  2. Have user remove all MCC wireless networks (MCC_Wireless, MCC_Guest), by using “Forget” network.
  3. Reboot the wireless device.
  4. Search for available networks again.
  5. Connect to eduroam or MCC_Wireless on device with new password.
