Description
To share folders in Microsoft Outlook, the process depends on whether you're using Outlook for Microsoft 365, Outlook desktop app, or Outlook on the web. Here's a general guide for the desktop version.
Instructions
Share a Mail Folder in Outlook (Desktop App)
- Right-click the folder you want to share (e.g., Inbox, a subfolder).
- Select Properties.
- Go to the Permissions tab.
- Click Add, then choose the person from your address book.
- Set the Permission Level (e.g., Reviewer, Editor, etc.).
- Click OK.
Note: You may also need to give permission to the top-level mailbox (your email address) so the person can access the shared folder path.
🌐 Share a Folder in Outlook on the Web
- Right-click the folder.
- Select Permissions or Sharing and permissions.
- Enter the email address of the person you want to share with.
- Choose the permission level.
- Click Share or Done.
