Summary

Troubleshooting for Apple ID and/or password.

Body

Error Message

Invalid Apple ID or password on Apple device.

Description

Apple device will not take your Apple ID or password.

Resolution

Double-Check Your Credentials

  • Make sure you're entering the correct Apple ID email address and password.
  • Check for typos, especially with capitalization or special characters.

Reset Your Apple ID Password

If you're unsure of your password or think it might be incorrect:

  • Go to Apple's iForgot page
  • Enter your Apple ID and follow the instructions to reset your password.

Check Your Internet Connection

Sometimes login issues are caused by poor or unstable internet connectivity. Try switching to a different Wi-Fi network or using cellular data.

Update Your Device

Make sure your device is running the latest version of iOS, iPadOS, or macOS. Outdated software can sometimes cause login issues.

Sign In on Another Device or Browser

Try logging in to your Apple ID at https://account.apple.com/ from a web browser. If it works there, the issue might be with your device settings.

Check for Account Lock or Security Issues

If you've entered the wrong password too many times, your account might be temporarily locked. Apple may also require additional verification if it detects suspicious activity.
