NOTE: The deactivation process is managed by MCC Human Resources, through Workday, and communicated with ITS, where the staff complete deactivation tasks based on separation date. The former Technology Deactivation Form is Retired
Process, Policy or Workflow
When an employee separates from MCC, the manager will coordinate with Human Resources to complete all the steps necessary in a timely manner. HR will notify ITS of the separation so that access to technology and digital resources is revoked. This ensures both MCC assets and information remains secure.
Customer Experience
The Technology Deactivation Form (TDF) is retired. The deactivation process remains managed by MCC's Human Resources, through Workday, and communicated to ITS, where IT staff complete deactivation tasks based on separation date.
Details
What does this change mean for managers and HR staff?
- HR continues to 'own' the deactivation process. Managers should continue to call HR with separation questions or concerns.
- Separated employees who remain enrolled in MCC courses will retain student email, and student account services.
- Tickets for deactivation will process the day after the employee's last day of work.
- Managers should review the employee's access to MCC systems and data, and ensure all access is terminated after the separation date.
NOTE: If an employee has access to third-party systems that are managed within a subscribed platform, coordinate with ITS or the primary system contact, to ensure those accounts are disabled, deleted, or transferred to another employee. This may include resetting passwords.
