Microsoft Teams Won't Open

Description

If Microsoft Teams won't open, several troubleshooting steps can help resolve the issue. 

Instructions
  1. Check your internet connection: Ensure your Internet is working by visiting any website.
  2. Sign out and sign back in: Select your profile picture at the top right of Teams, choose Sign out, then reopen Teams and sign in again.
  3. Clear the Teams cache:
  • On Windows: Right-click the Teams icon in the task bar and select Quit. Then, navigate to %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams in File Explorer and delete the contents of the folder. Restart Teams.
  • On Mac: Right-click the Teams icon in the taskbar and select Quit. Then, delete the directory ~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Teams. Restart TeamsNote: Deleting the cache won't remove Microsoft Teams from your device, but will remove the web client cache, icons, thumbnails, local message history, your Teams display images, and any other Teams add-ons.
  1. Uninstall and reinstall Teams: Remove Teams from your device and then reinstall it.
  2. Use the web version: If the desktop app isn't working, try accessing Teams via Microsoft Teams.
  3. Check for service incidents: Visit the official Microsoft X (Twitter) account for any known issues: Microsoft 365 Status (@MSFT365Status) / X
