Description

Steps to take before planning a trip outside of the USA.

Instructions

  1. Ensure you have phone service in the areas you will be traveling. If not, load Okta Verify or another non-mobile device MFA prior to leaving the USA.
  2. If you get a 403 error while traveling, send an email to ITSupportServices@mccneb.edu and provide the IP address you are trying to access MCC sites from. You can find your IP address using services like What Is My IP Address.
  3. Include your international location with arrival and departure dates
  4. Name and MCC ID number
  5. Remember to send this email copy to your personal email address because if you have issues accessing MCC sites, your MCC email may not be available.

Access Limitations
When planning international travel, it is essential to record your travel plans and request access to MCC resources.  Access is not guaranteed and may be restricted.

Important Notice As of January 29, 2026, access from the following countries is blocked without exception: Belarus, China, Cuba, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Niger, North Korea, Pakistan, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Sudan, Syria, Ukraine

These restrictions are based on U.S. government sanctions and official security advisories. Changes to this list may occur with risk-level escalation or updated guidance from federal agencies.

For Employees

First, employees should visit the International Travel and MFA guide, found in Unity.  Then, submit the International Travel Form in Etrieve to request access to MCC digital resources while traveling abroad.

For Students

First, students should visit the Access to MCC systems while abroad guide, found in myHub.  Then, submit the Geoblock Exception Form in the IT Services Portal to request access to MCC digital resources while traveling abroad.
