What is it?
Geo blocking is a means of managing access to network services (MCC email, file servers, or applications) when traveling to international regions.
Who is Eligible?
How to get it?
Please note there are independent processes to submit a Geoblock Exception:
Students must submit a geoblock exception request using the "Student Geoblock Request" button, on the right of this page.
Employees must submit a geoblock exception request using International Travel Form in Faculty/Staff Unity - Forms Bank
How do I use it?
Depending on the region of travel, IT Staff may not be able to approve all geoblock exception requests. Certain federal and international laws may dictate when international access is available. Please refer to the associated International Travel knowledge base article for more information.
Important note: Students should be aware that Geoblock Exceptions will only be approved for the academic quarter currently in-session. If your request is approved, and your period of travel extends beyond the current quarter end date, approved students should respond through the IT Support Portal ticketing system, or through ticketing email response, that than extension for geoblock exception be considered. IT staff may require follow-up information. Please monitor your MCC and alternate email accounts for details from IT staff.
How much does it cost?
